Mini ACE (also referred to as ACE Mini[2] or Mini Me ACE) is a British featherweight robot which competed in the 2018 King of Bots UK International Championships. Built by ACE Robotics, it entered the main competition as a reserve, taking the place of Mad Rush for the latter’s second and third qualification rounds. In each battle, Mini ACE had limited success, initially finishing third to Naughty Snake on a Judges’ decision after spending the majority of the battle dodging its opponents. Following this, it finished its second qualifier runner-up to Binky, after sustaining heavy blows from Neon - one of which caused Ellis Ware's machine to eject itself from the arena - and becoming immobilized.

In addition to the main competition, Mini ACE also fought in several side events alongside fellow ACE Robotics entry BANE. These included one whiteboard battle, the Annihilator, where Mini ACE was eliminated in the first round, and the eighteen-way Gladiator melee, which both machines lost to Aegis.

Design[]

Mini ACE was essentially a scaled-down version of ACE Robotics’ heavyweight, being a compact, wedge-shaped robot with a black, reddish-brown and light blue color scheme. Its weapon was a rear-hinged lifter, which also had angled edges to offer additional protection against spinning weapons.
