Forsaken 2.0 (alternatively referred to as 地狱之子, translated as Son of Hell) is a Chinese featherweight robot which competed in the King of Bots 2019 Opening Battle. Representing the red team, it fought one head-to-head battle against full-body spinner Anchor and Shield, but lost via knockout after a blow from Anchor and Shield immobilized it within the first minute.
Builder Wang Zheng also competed in Season 1 as part of the Knife Legend team, and later entered King of Bots II with Twin Panthers, a robot that scales up the design of Forsaken 2.0 and may even include Forsaken 2.0 as a minibot.
Forsaken 2.0 is a compact, two-wheel drive robot with a wide front wedge and a ‘drisc’ spinner. The spinner consists of a large black drum, weighing 3.69kg, fitted with two single-toothed discs on either side; each disc was painted bright green and incorporated prominent counterweights. The design would later be upscaled for the heavyweight robot Twin Panthers, and bears a slight resemblance to the Ellis Ware robots Pulsar and Magnetar.
2019 Opening BattleEdit
Forsaken 2.0 was one of eight featherweight robots to attend the 2019 Opening Battle, held to promote the upcoming second season. Representing the red team, it fought a single head-to-head battle against the full-body spinner Anchor and Shield.
In the opening moments, Forsaken 2.0 maneuvered out of the red corner and towards the center of the arena, twice driving into Anchor and Shield. It proceeded to pursue Anchor and Shield towards the grinders, but was unable to attack it a third time. Forsaken 2.0 turned round, only to leave its left wheel vulnerable to a side-on attack from Anchor and Shield’s spinner. This resulted in Forsaken 2.0 being thrown into the corner, where it was suddenly left immobile. Forsaken 2.0 was counted out after thirty-eight seconds had elapsed, losing the battle to Anchor and Shield via knockout.
After the battle concluded, Forsaken 2.0 encountered more issues. While the robot was being taken out of the arena, its drisc spinner suddenly reactivated; before carrying it over the entry gate, the team had removed a block of wood from Forsaken 2.0 which served as a locking bar for its spinner. Forsaken 2.0’s exit was delayed while its team deactivated the spinner and locked it back into place, with assistance from a King of Bots crewmember.
