Ocean Waves was a Chinese competitor robot which fought in Season 2 of King of Bots. Entered by a team of primarily young children with only one adult on the team, Ocean Waves debuted in the first episode of that season, being selected by Emma Dumont to fight Iron Scrap, although it suffered a destructive loss by knockout.

Design

Ocean Waves ran on a four-wheel drive, with its primary weapon being a rear-hinged flipping arm, mounted in the center of the robot. The robot boasted reasonable lifting power, although its four wheels were all externally mounted and vulnerable to spinner hits, without providing the robot with a great deal of speed, and its armor also proved to be brittle.

Robot History

King of Bots 2 (Season 2)

Ocean Waves made its King of Bots debut in Episode 1 of Season 2, where Emma Dumont selected it to compete in the third battle of Season 2. There, it faced the drum spinner of Iron Scrap.

Ocean Waves takes severe frontal damage

Ocean Waves immediately proved to be the slower of the two, and Iron Scrap immediately darted across the arena, slamming into and inflicting significant damage to the front of the machine. Ocean Waves appeared to have difficulty moving forwards, and sustained more damage while being pushed back into the red corner by Iron Scrap. Ocean Waves briefly moved forward, while the briefly retreating Iron Scrap returned to tear a large chunk of armor from its right-rear corner. Ocean Waves shuttled back and forth, then sustained another blow from Iron Scrap’s drum which further damaged its front end.

Ocean Waves is counted out

Seconds later, the two robots collided head-on once more; Iron Scrap threw Ocean Waves upwards on contact, tearing another piece of armor off and immobilizing Ocean Waves completely. With its front end badly damaged, Ocean Waves was counted out, and lost the battle by knockout. Following Ocean Waves' loss, Emma Dumont visited the team’s young members, giving them hugs and motivational advice ahead of future battles.
